Thank You Councillor Terry Cutmore

Just a quick post to say that I have heard back from Councillor Terry Cutmore, and while he is obviously a very busy man, he has taken the time to say that he "hasn't forgotten nor ignored" my query and has also said..

"I have asked specifically where you sit in the rollout and am awaiting details."

This I hope will help our plight, and once again I am very impressed with his reply and help.

Thank you Sir.

Lastly, I have had a lot of page views (some 300+) and hope people agree with the cause; any comments or issues, negative or positive will be gratefully received.

Thank you fellow villagers

  2. Glad there is someone else on there case but I did not no that we had been excluded. I mean how much would it cost them, the cabinet is not even 1.6 miles as it is on the corner of lower road. I regularly get e-mails from super fast Essex.org, but when you go to check it says"This area is part of the commercial rollout by BT and other fibre providers such as Virgin Media. It is outside the scope of the Superfast Essex Programme. Please contact a commercial internet provider to identify services in your area" then you go to the post code checker and you get"Accepting orders

Good news. Your serving cabinet is enabled for fibre broadband. Please note, in a minority of instances that doesn't guarantee your availability. Contact your preferred communications provider for your home or business to order."

  3. For the record I have it on great authority its between 20-40k to hook us up, yes i'm fed up with mail offering things we can't have, and adverts on prime time TV offering to help rural areas. Yep the websites are misleading, I've been chasing this down since 2012 and now feel I'm close to the facts. Our cabinet is indeed enabled, but we are not going to be connected unless people in our village like your good self make contact with superfastessex and register interest. Or even drop them a polite mail.

I've worked hard on this recently and i'm absolutely not going to let it go. I've been to Parish council meetings and written to MPs. I'm hoping this will put us on the map. Rochford council obviously could care less having not taken up the governments initiative, so I recommend perhaps dropping them an email and letting them know we are here. :-)

    Thanks for your comments
